Follow Authors

Find and follow an Indigenous writer on social media.

Social media plays such a large role in most people’s daily lives. Following Indigenous writers on social media is a good way to stay informed about events, issues, and their work.

Instructions

Find and follow an Indigenous writer on social media. If you’re not sure where to begin, consider looking up:

  • Authors whose articles you’ve edited or read
  • Authors who participated in our HIW Kickoff
  • Authors tagged with the #HonouringIndigenousWriters or #indigenousreads tag on Twitter

Resources

  • HIW Writers List
  • HIW Author Readings
  • 108 Indigenous Authors (CBC)
  • Xwi7xwa Library Collections Spotlight
  • HIW Reading List (from Koerner Library)

Complete this Activity

In classic social media #followfriday fashion, tweet or share out a list of the new authors you are following and maybe talk about what you like about them!
